Thanks for showing some interest

Update 24/08/11

The usually lively ericpondfilters website has gone literally OFF the scale over the past two days as far as page-loads are concerned. I’ve finally found out why and it’s because other Koi forums are beginning to show some interest in the systems.

There are various comments made and one is that my units are not on sale to see at other UK Koi outlets.

The reasons that the units will not be seen on sale at any other UK Koi outlet is simply because I do not believe there is any such thing as an ‘off-the-shelf’ filter system that can possibly work on every pond purely by gallonage-capacities quoted in the advertising.

I am also very wary, should that ever happen, that the salesperson/s concerned would not have the slightest knowledge or interest as to what eric filters are really about.

Without attempting to sound ‘elitist’ in ANY way, these are bespoke units tailored for serious Koi enthusiasts and I have no intentions or desires to gear them to the mass markets – nor have I any desires to compete, in terms of ‘numbers’, with any other filter manufacturers.

Because of this I personally insist on knowing where each and every single unit will be going and how it will be installed. If the simple requirements cannot be met then I will advise the person/s concerned that eric is not a wise choice for him/them.

I also insist upon keeping a ‘100% satisfied user record’ as it is now and the very last thing I need is for any buyer to say the filter does not work when I know it’s an absolute impossibility for it NOT to work just as long as the rules clearly stated on this website are observed.

The concerns given of costly and excessive water costs are groundless; an eric four unit on a 4,000-gallon pond will dump 114 gallons per day to be topped up very slowly over a 24-hour period.

This represents a 2.8% water change only – in any given 24-hour period – which is 4.75 gallons per hour or 0.079 gallons per minute.

That’s the absolute minimum required to flush any 4,000-gallon ‘Koi Lavatory’ in any given day if the truth is known!

Of course, in lower temperatures, the daily flush can be extended depending on stocking rates and the particular system in question.

Again, ALL Koi pond systems are unique.

Waddy.

PS. Regarding the ‘large’ system and the various ‘expert’ comments voiced from various ‘armchair quarters’. Please do be assured that the person paying for it all did not get the wherewithal to pay the total costs by being a clown – and also please remember that everything in this world is ‘relative’.
